Makassar Multiclient Seismic Survey

Reprocessed 3D survey

Indonesia Makassar Seismic Survey

The survey is located in the Makassar Strait on the southeastern margin of Sundaland, within the central archipelago of Indonesia, between Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The deep water of the Makassar Strait is lightly explored and is adjacent to a world-scale hydrocarbon province (Kutai basin), which is in a deltaic, shelfal setting.  The 10,390 km2 survey was reprocessed using prestack time migration in 2012, with prestack depth migrated data available for license in March 2013. The data offer valuable insights for companies wanting to screen open areas (see colored blocks on map) for future bid decisions or to assess farm-in opportunities.

Key highlights

  • Proven petroleum system
  • 3D anisotropic Kirchhoff prestack time migration and prestack depth migration with full prestack products available for license
  • AVO-friendly migration gathers
  • Improved structural imaging, especially in areas of steep dips, deep water, and rugose seabed
