Multiclient Latest Projects: Africa Seismic Surveys

The Africa seismic survey portfolio includes the first 3D seismic survey in Mozambique covering 15,000 km2 of the Angoche area as well as more than 87,000 km of 2D data for offshore Mozambique. Recent reprocessed data includes 2D data for open blocks along the shelf areas of offshore Guinea, and 3D depth data over Angola blocks 46–48. Additionally, a new 2D acquisition is in progress for the Egyptian Red Sea to support future licensing rounds in this relatively unexplored area.

Angola Blocks 46–48 3D Depth Imaging

In association with Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angloa, E.P. (Sonangol E.P.), WesternGeco completed a depth imaging project of 7,922 km2 of 3D surveys over the Lower Congo basin.

Egypt Red Sea 2018 2D Survey

WesternGeco and TGS, in collaboration with South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope), are acquiring approximately 10,000 km of long-offset broadband 2D data to give operators the ability to assess future investment in the area.

Mozambique Angoche 3D Survey

In collaboration with the National Petroleum Institute of Mozambique (INP) in 2016, WesternGeco multiclient acquired the first 3D multiclient seismic survey consisting of 15,000 km2 of broadband seismic data in the Angoche basin.

Mozambique 2D Survey

In collaboration with the National Petroleum Institute of Mozambique (INP) more than 87,000 km of 2D data from various legacy surveys has recently been reprocessed, including 36,000 km of broadband data acquired in 2013—maximizing the geological understanding of offshore Mozambique.
